I was seeing that our lok virsa is scatared here and there. There are a few sites but they are patheic: so many ads and often nasty ads! Is that the way to present the music which takes one to the origins! And the thing that irritates most is inability to download. When I saw no one is doing it, I did it. A clean, simple, and beautiful place on the Internet where you can easily search, listen or download folk songs.
I know this is not complete and what can be complete at all? But I had to start with something. I try to add songs regularly. So do check it now and then. You will find music of the soul.
A Request
As you know that I’m trying to make lyrics of the songs available. I need your help here. When you are listening to a song, write its lyrics somewhere and send me. That will be your contribution to Folk Punjab.

I do not find much words to thank you…. Beautiful and priceless creations are there in your site…. I am from India born in divided India…… I am crazy about sufi music from more than a decade now….. High time that we realised how wonderful and ageless these creations are. Simply awesome!!

It goes with saying, that you have created a portal that is imperative to folk culture and history, and on a more personal note, something very magical and nostalgic.
I am, however, concerned how long you’ll be able to keep this site running, as it seems you have no means of income from this website. I am sure, the cost of bandwith use will increase over time, especially with more content added.
I would not mind seeing advertising on this site, if it guaranteed continuity and the long term viability success of this site.
